Construction Requirements by Size of Project

• Between 1 square foot and 1 acre of soil disturbance:  Erosion and Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) Worksheet or ESCP Specification sheet within the improvement plans required.

• Greater than 1 acre:  Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) required.  Refer to the State Water Resources Control Board's Construction Storm Water Program

Post-Construction Requirements by Size of Project

• Less than 2500 square feet of impervious area created:  Post construction treatment is not required
• Between 2500 and 5000 square feet of impervious area created:  Small project post construction treatment required.  Use the state water board calculator to design your post construction features

• Over 5000 but under 1 acre of impervious area created:  Project Stormwater Plan (PSP) required.

• Greater than 1 acre of impervious area created:  Hydromodification Project, Project Stormwater Plan (PSP) required.

Operations and Maintenance Plans (O&M Plan)

• O&M Plans are required for all projects with post-construction storm water treatment features.
