The City of Lathrop's Building Department is responsible for the enforcement of codes, laws, ordinances, and regulations to promote health and safety in all private and public buildings, and to ensure that both new and existing buildings and structures are safe and suitable for their intended uses. The Building Department is committed to fulfilling the growing community's needs, preserving the City's quality of life and contributing to the City's economical development.
The Permitting Process is fully electronic, and all Permit Applications must be submitted using the Portal, described below. A Building Permit is required for most construction projects such as new construction, additions, tenant improvements, pools, spas, signs, remodeling, and work on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Field Inspections will be conducted once projects are Approved, and Permits are Issued.
