City Council
The City Council consist of the Mayor and four Council Members and acts as the policy-making body for the City of Lathrop. The City Council members are the elected representatives of the citizens of the City of Lathrop.
The goal of the Council is to govern the City in a manner that is both responsive to the needs and concerns of the residents and is financially sound. The City Council enacts and enforces ordinances and regulations that concern municipal affairs, subject only to the limitations and restrictions of the State Constitution. The City Council, as a body, supervises and provides guidance for the activities of the City.
Meeting Information
The City Council meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., at the City Hall Council Chamber. Agendas are available on Thursday before each meeting. The official agenda is posted outside of City Hall, at the Library and Lathrop Generations Center (on Spartan Way), Community Center and Senior Center (on 5th Street), the River Islands Fire Station. Special meetings are scheduled and posted as needed. Study Sessions and Special Meetings are scheduled as needed.
Council meetings are broadcast live on Comcast cable channel 97. Meetings are rebroadcast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and noon on Wednesday following the City Council meeting. Meetings are also streaming live by clicking the link below.

Commissions & Committees
The Lathrop City Council has formed a variety of commissions and committees to assist the City in the information gathering and deliberative process. Commissions and Committees are vital to the operation of the city and ensure public involvement in the governmental process.
