Construction and Demolition

CalRecycle

The City of Lathrop provides a Construction and Demolition (C&D) Recycling Program to help local C&D projects achieve the state-mandated (CalGreen) 65% diversion of construction and demolition materials from reaching the landfill.  Materials that need to be diverted from the landfill include metals, wood and organics, and must be kept clean from trash so that it is delivered in a manageable condition to be recycled. Roofing projects must also meet the same state mandated requirements.  Roofing materials such as asphalt shingles, wood and other materials must be separated for recycling.  Please read our informative C&D Brochure.

A C&D application may be completed below. 

REPUBLIC SERVICES 

Republic Services is the franchise hauler that will assist with the recycling and disposal of C&D materials.  Any on-site dumpsters for the collection of C&D materials must be contracted through Republic Services.  Republic Services will submit compliance reports to the City on behalf of the resident(s).  Please call (209-466-5192) and select option 2 to speak with a C&D specialist.

SELF-HAUL AND DONATION OPTIONS

For self-haul options, please contact a recycling facility that accepts C&D materials and also provides weight receipts as proof of compliance with the City of Lathrop C&D regulations. 

For donations, materials such as light fixtures, sinks, faucets, doors, etc., may be donated to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore (209-463-1043) or the ReUse People (209-241-3614). Please contact these organizations directly for more information on their requirements and what items they accept.  A supplemental form is available for donation locations to complete. See below. 

C&D APPLICATION

During the building permit application process, residents and contractors will receive the C&D packet of forms further explaining the requirements.  The initial application can be filled out below. 

TO START THE APPLICATION PROCESS, PLEASE COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS: 

1. Fill out the information below and click "Submit" at the bottom. 

2. Next, click HERE to download the supplemental C&D forms.  Once completed, email the forms to PW_CD_ADMIN@ci.lathrop.ca.us.  Please include your name,  building permit number and project description in the email and on all forms. The supplemental forms may also be mailed to: The City of Lathrop, Attn: Public Works Department - C&D Application, 390 Towne Centre Drive, Lathrop, CA 95330.
