Parks at RI 15 acres

River Island has already 2 baseball fields that are mostly empty.

there is a plan to build a 15 acres park and it has 3 baseball field planned.

Our request is to think about all the residents and not only the baseball fans. A basquetball field or water park or just play structure would benefit more residents than 3 more baseball fields.

Park planning

Hello, as an owner on Garden Farms Ave I have seen the sign for the 15 acre park up for several years and yet the park has not been built. In previous plans shared with the community I have seen that it consists of multiple baseball fields. However, here in River Islands we already have a stadium quality field and several other smaller fields. There are other amenities that we don't have access to which I feel would enrich the community if included , such as :
-Tennis Courts
- Larger playground
-some form of water park or community pool
-public bathrooms

15 Acre River Islands Community Park Plans

There are plans for 3 baseball fields plus a 4th little league field at the planned future 15 acre community park in River Islands.  Resident don't want those and would not use them - tennis courts, more basketball courts, and maybe a community swimming pool are what residents want and would use.

I spoke with Mr. LeBlanc today, Monday May 17.  Informed him we would have a staff member come and take a look at the irrigation lines.  He feels there are two issues the turf sprinklers are overshooting the turf and the hedges and hitting the fence as well as some of the pop up hedge sprinklers may be facing his fence instead of the hedge.

I told him I would follow up after staff does the inspection.

water sprinklers set to high overflowing into fence & property

Hello I am located at 16701 Victorian Trl. Lathrop Ca. next to the park. The water sprinklers are set to high and need to be lowered so to not hit my fence and property. For the pass several year the water has saturated and rotten out  the fence and posts from the park side and on my property side.  Please address ASAP and feel free to contact me at 510-333-6364.    Thank you Farrell Le Blanc

Good afternoon Mr. Tartt,

Thank you for taking the time to submit your inquiry though the City of Lathrop Website.

In regards to your question about the trimming of trees within the parkway strips in residential areas of Lathrop the maintenance and watering of these trees is the responsibility of the individual homeowner.  This responsibility includes trees planted in parkway strips located at the front the home or trees located along side of the home if your home is located on a corner lot.

tree in front of my home

There is a tree that was planted in front of my home when I purchased the home in 2008. My residence is 15900 Mossy Point Way. The tree has grown to the point where the branches are stretching into the street and causing those who walk by to have to bend down to avoid hitting the branches. I would like to make a request to have the tree trimmed so that it will not be a nuisance to myself, those walking by, people who park as well as the sanitation workers who pick up the yard waste, garbage and the recycle. Thank you.
