Good afternoon Mr. Tartt,

Thank you for taking the time to submit your inquiry though the City of Lathrop Website.

In regards to your question about the trimming of trees within the parkway strips in residential areas of Lathrop the maintenance and watering of these trees is the responsibility of the individual homeowner.  This responsibility includes trees planted in parkway strips located at the front the home or trees located along side of the home if your home is located on a corner lot.

tree in front of my home

There is a tree that was planted in front of my home when I purchased the home in 2008. My residence is 15900 Mossy Point Way. The tree has grown to the point where the branches are stretching into the street and causing those who walk by to have to bend down to avoid hitting the branches. I would like to make a request to have the tree trimmed so that it will not be a nuisance to myself, those walking by, people who park as well as the sanitation workers who pick up the yard waste, garbage and the recycle. Thank you.

I spoke with Jasi today and explained that unfortunately the trees along Johnson Ferry were either diseased and filled with misletoe, dead or dying from this condition and they had to be removed.

It is unfortunate and we as the city will continue to do all we can to address this situation in the future to prevent this from happening again.

Trees Removal on Johnson Ferry Road

I wrote to you earlier inquiring about the removal of All the trees from Johnson Ferry Road. But I was checking the update on my request, it shows no such request! I also have the ID # 408lfe21. So I wonder where my request went. Please explain. Thanks.

Tree removal

I want to ask why all the trees from Johnson Ferry Road were removed? Lathrop needs more trees not less. If there was a problem with speed roots, new better trees should be planted. That was the best street to walk on in summer with lovely shade all along. Please look into this issue. Thanking you in advance. Jasi Dhillon.

04-21-21 I spoke with Ms. Gauba and informed her the parcel in question (APN 19161022) is a privately owned parcel with no plan for any City improvements.  I also let her know if the parcel is full of weeds and needs attention she can also call us directly to assist in taking care of any issues.

841 Trestle Point right next to 819 Trestle point, Lathrop House.

There is a pocket grass area at 841 Trestle Point right next to 819 Trestle point, Lathrop House which is just full of weeds all the time and not properly maintained. Just wondering if city can turn that area to a little park for the neighborhood kids to play.
