Hello, I am writing in hopes to receive some help with overgrown trees at my residences. I am a resident at Levee Lane and along the side our house is Lathrop Road, near the levee. Some trees along the sidewalk on Lathrop Road have now grown immensely in size and would like to request the tree be removed completely or at least the branches trimmed. I've noticed city workers come by every so often to do work on the greenery so I was wondering if they could trim that down for us as well. Reasons being are that the tree is making contact with the sides of my residence, and I have had pest control tell me that it's bes to not have any wood making contact with the house since that can be a possible way termites to invade. Sap that gets produced from said trees are dripping over the fence an into my backyard just making a mess of things. We live near the levee which can become extremely windy to the point where our neighborhood is no strangers to fallen trees and fences due to strong winds and I fear that over time these trees may eventually crash into the house. We have done work ourselves over the years by trimming every year where we could but we are now unable to anymore due to the sheer size of the trees now. Is there anything the city can do for us? Thank you.

Mr. Carmesis,
The City is currently implementing a citywide tree maintenance program, which includes grid pruning operations. The trees you described in the Lathrop Rd. (Spartan Way) area have already been identified for service, and will be pruned in the near future. Thank you for your inquiry, and sharing your concerns with us.
