Dear Mayor Dhaliwal

INTRODUCTION:

My name is Joyce Inglemon. I am part of this lovely and peaceful community, moved from the bay area (Castro Valley) with my brother, he and I bought our home together, and he passed away as a honored member of the military. I have lived here for 2 years. I am reaching out for your help as it is very much needed. Will you kindly see the following:

ISSUE

As we all know and learned parking is a very big problem on the residential streets. My address is 583 New England Ave. You might not remember but throughout my previous major issue about parking, I spoke with you and you even gave me your cell number (very honored) thank you. You had given instructions to contact the correct agency/staff and I did. Your chief of police handled it extremely well with my neighbors at 591 New England Ave.

In brief that problem involved there 1 out of 4 cars had been parked in front of my home for months even through me purchasing this property. I approached them as I should to inquire if that was their car, they said it's a public street (I certainly know that) and slammed the door, that’s how I met my new neighbor. After so very many malicious acts on their part and a few calls to patrol with no solving the issue, that is when your chief of police stepped in, problem solved. Thanks again chief.

Another problem arose and I have a request in which I will include in my proposal section below. Another on the other side of my not too friendly neighbors at 591, has 5 cars. There one car has been parked in front of my home since April 24, 2020 to May 2, 2020, on May 2, it was driven and returned and it is there again. I know for a fact that is a public street, but I think our community should be reminded there are words called (common courtesy along with common sense). This has caused my trash collection to be missed on Friday May 1, 2020 because of this car being in the way and not to mention I am being charged an extra fee of $25.00 for rescheduling missed service the following Monday, not to happy about that. I attached pictures just to give you a little background on where these cars can be parked if they are going to abandoned their cars for an extensive periods of time or just not driving that car for 2 weeks or so.

I even spoke with your city planning dept., or in the area of, about my paying for and putting a handicapped in front of my home as that was interfering with the hospice staff and first responders if I needed them for my brother (s). That was explained to me, that I have a driveway, etc;

PROPOSAL

Me approaching them nicely definitely is no longer an option. I do not want anymore malicious acts against me, that is not fair. My suggestion is putting a flyer reminding our neighbor, they need to be more considerate of each other, and not only in parking, I certainly am. Starting off with mild repercussions. I will pay for the postage, labor and any and all expenses that will occur. I would like to live the rest of my days in peace and harmony for the most part 98% of my neighbors are excellent and very caring especially after I lost 4 immediately family members, in a span of 60 days. Everyone does not read that very informative calendar and events brochure that comes in our water bill. Can you help please.

Sincerely,

Joyce Inglemon
