Hello I have made several complaints about my back neighbors dog being neglected. Yesterday our conjoining fence fell down and I could see into their entire backyard. The dog was outside when it was strong with and has no dog house I saw no food or water. This poor dog was shivering. It is to my understanding dogs need to have proper shelter if outside. This dog is clearly malnourished - you can see her ribs. Again, I have been calling about this neglect for years and it is still going on. The dog was outside all day with the winds and rain yesterday. Dog is left outside 24/7 and you can hear it crying at night. I called non-emergency service yesterday and told them about the incident. The address to the animal is at 930 Waterman Ave. Lathrop. If someone can check on this poor dog, because it is being neglected by horrible owners that should not own a dog. I know the owners have been issued letters in the mail before and have been told to vaccinate the dog in the past. (It had no vaccines) The owners also have about 8 small crates all along the side of their backyard. There was no animals inside all of these crates but it wasn't kind of odd to see. I am located at 930 englewood way Lathrop and my phone number is (209) 603-2303.

Hello,
Thank you for bringing this to the city's attention. After doing some research I was able to locate the call that was made to the non-emergency line on 2/4/24. Lathrop Police Officer responded to 930 Waterman Ave to conduct a animal welcheck. Upon arrival the officer was given permission to look in the back yard. Per the responding officer, the dog appeared to be well taken care of and friendly. The said fence was not down and was being held up by 4x4's. The dog is up to date on licensing and vaccines and was contained with in its own property line. We would like to thank you for using the city's website to voice your concern. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact us at the Community Services Division (209)647-6430.
