Every weekend now for some 3 to 4 weekends I have been driven to call law enforcement and complain about loud music and ask for someone to go to the Cafe Platano Bar and Grill at 14725 S. Harlan Rd and ask that the loud music be turned down.

Their hours are supposed to be from 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, according to their website, but they are still going strong at 11:00 PM and later. (On the weekends the loud music tends to go from 6:00 PM until whenever they decide to close or the police are able to get them to turn it down.)

If I can hear it in my backyard, over a half a mile away, like they are playing in my backyard, then how do the people at the Days Inn that shares the same parking lot feel about the loud music. (I have even had Lathrop Police Officers in my backyard listening to the music to verify the problem.)

Is the Platano Bar & Grill licensed and or permitted for amplified music and/or is there someone I can contact to report them and get someone to officially ask them to turn the volume down? I have been told this is going to be an ongoing thing every weekend for a while.

I have tried calling the Platano Bar & Grill myself at (209) 983-8881 and pled my case and have had no success at getting them to turn the music down. If anything they turned the music up.

I have called the police for three weekends in a row with some success if they get to the business before they close otherwise nothing is done and the music plays on until they close.

Do I need to fill out an official complaint for "Disturbing the Peace"?

I hate to bother the police department with something this trivial, but they the Cafe Platano Bag & Grill needs to have more respect for others and the surrounding neighbors/neighborhood.
