Status: Closed Assigned To: Mrobinson (Code Compliance) Ticket ID: 60606848
Good evening,
In August of 2021, I was in contact with Zachary Jones about cars parking on the levee, using the access ramp near Cutter St. to get up there. Removable bollards were put in place.
Mr. Jones also informed me that a new "no driving or parking on the levee" sign would be installed. The sign that is currently there is faded and no longer readable and not visible from the street as it is up the ramp a bit and hard to see.
I reached out to Mr. Jones again to follow up on the status of the sign, but my e-mail was returned. I am hoping someone else can please be of assistance. What is the status of the new sign?
Also, as quite a number of people use the levee for recreation and exercise, how far does access for that use extend along the levee?
I am hoping to learn what the property boundaries are as last month while walking my dog I was informed I was trespassing. I only walk along the top and passed no sign that said private property, but I apologized and turned around.
Can you please clarify who owns the levee top and how far along the river it can be used for dog walking, etc.?
I understand more than one agency maintains and manages that area, but am unsure how the property rights/ownership work as far as the top of the levee is concerned. Any information you can provide about that would be appreciated.
