I am writing regarding the citations for my property at 624 New Well Court, Lathrop, CA 95330. This property has been vacant since the beginning of the year, and this past February I had a professional landscaper work on the grounds with the intention of keeping in accord with the regulations of the City of Lathrop. I received a document stating that my property was inspected on April 27, 2020 and again on May 11, 2020 and was cited on Lathrop Municipal Code Sections 8.16.080; 8.24.30 (K); and 8.26.060. With regards to citation 8.24.30 (K) and 8.26.060, I would greatly appreciate any leniency the CIty of Lathrop can extend given the unprecedented circumstances our entire community faces with the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a law abiding citizen, I had a professional landscaper service the property in February, and with Governor Newsom’s shelter in place order that began in early March it was difficult to have anyone service the property thereafter. This was only compounded by the financial hardship I have faced not only with a vacant property but also with the economic downturn the COVID-19 pandemic has only just begun to generate. Regarding citation 8.16.080 I was unaware that vacant properties also need garbage service. Since the property has been empty since the beginning of the year and was not producing any waste, I did not realize that garbage service was required. However, I am now aware of this and will ensure that my property is compliant.
In sum, for the aforementioned reasons, especially in the context of the financial distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, I would greatly appreciate any leniency the City of Lathrop can extend. I have learned from this experience, and will ensure that my property is always compliant in the future.
Thank you for all the hard work that your team puts into keeping our community a safe and clean place for all to enjoy.
