PS 21-06 Lathrop Rd and Harlan Rd Intersection Improvements Project
The intersection of Lathrop Road and Harlan Road currently has some traffic circulation and control deficiencies. The proposed project will mitigate the deficiencies by:
• Providing two exclusive left turn lanes and a combined through/right turn lane on northbound Harlan Road.
• Removing the raised island median on Harlan Road south of W. Lathrop Road at the entrance to the existing northbound left turn lane and the Burger King-O’Reilly’s driveway.
• Extending the left turn lane on the eastbound W. Lathrop Road approach to Harlan Road by 75 feet minimum.
Status Updates
The City of Lathrop has completed the installation of rubberized chip seal along two segments of Lathrop Road and Harlan Road associated with CIP PS 21-06 Lathrop Rd and Harlan Rd Intersection Improvements Project. This project was partially funded in part by a rubberized pavement grant from CalRecycle. The rubberized chip seal is made by blending ground tire rubber with asphalt and aggregate chips. The project installed 20,711 square yards of rubberized chip seal which utilized approximately 1,934 waste tires generated in California.
