City Council

Council meetings are held at City Hall the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Agendas are available on Thursday before each meeting. The official agenda is posted outside of City Hall, at the Lathrop Post Office, Lathrop Community Center and at the Fire Station. Special meetings are scheduled and posted as needed. 

Council meetings are broadcast live on Comcast cable channel 97. Meetings are rebroadcast at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and noon on Wednesday following the City Council meeting.

Lathrop City Council Handbook of Rules & Procedures

The Lathrop City Council consists of five members, including the Mayor, elected for a 2-year term, and four Councilmembers elected for 4-year terms. Their terms of office expire in alternate even numbered years, with a maximum of 2 Councilmember seats, and the Mayor’s seat up for election at any one time. In addition to their representation of the citizens of Lathrop and their vote at City Council meetings, Councilmembers are appointed to various sub-committees and given other assignments by the Mayor during their terms in office, including the rotational office of Vice Mayor. 

The City Council Members are elected officers identified in Government Code Section 87200 and file statements of economic interests with the City Clerk's office. Copies of the statements of economic interests filed by the above elected officers may be obtained by visiting the offices of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) or the City Clerk. The physical address of the FPPC is 428 J Street, Suite 620, Sacramento, California 95814. The physical address of the City Clerk's office is 390 Towne Centre Drive, Lathrop, California 95330.
