Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) - a public safety system that allows customers who own certain wireless phones and other enabled mobile devices to receive geographically -targeted, text-like messages alerting them of imminent threats to safety in their area. Make sure to activate or enable your Emergency Alerts on your cell phone. (GO TO: Settings / Notifications / Emergency Alerts)

 

Monitor the Media - Monitor TV, radio, and local newspapers for important information in your area. If the need arises, the City will work with the County to ensure residents are notified of vital information and instruction by activating the EAS and messages will be coordinated with local radio stations. You can recognize an EAS message from the distinctive tone that begins each broadcast. The announcer will also identify the broadcast as the Emergency Alert System.
