PUBLIC WORKS MISSION

It is the City of Lathrop’s Public Works Department’s Mission to:

  • Deliver quality service to all of our customers.
  • See that the City accepts quality land development and public projects.
  • Build a diversified dedicated team of accomplished professionals.

The Public Works Department is one of the largest departments within the City of Lathrop, with 28 full-time employees. The department provides maintenance services for streets, street trees, traffic systems, street lights, parks, City buildings and graffiti removal. Public Works also operates and maintains the water wells, treatment facilities, the wastewater collection system, water distribution system, recycled water system and drainage system within the City.

The Public Works Department has three divisions: Administration, Operation and Maintenance and Engineering.

ADMINISTRATION

The Administration Division is not a specific arm of Public Works, but instead functions as the department’s coordinator and provides leadership to the department as a whole. Administration also serves as the support division for the entire department. This division contains the Director of Public Works, Stephen J. Salvatore and his staff.
