Payment Assistance Program

City Council meetings are held at City Hall the first and third Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Agendas are available on Thursday at noon before each meeting. The official agenda is posted outside of city hall in a display case, at the Lathrop Post Office, Lathrop Community Center and at the Fire Station. Special meetings are scheduled and posted as needed.

Council meetings are taped and then televised on your local broadcast cable channel 97 at 7:00 PM on Tuesday and Noon on Wednesday following the Council Meeting.

Payment Assistance Program

The City of Lathrop has recently adopted three years of utility rate increases. In order to help ease the burden of these increases, the City offers a Payment Assistance Program to those customers who qualify and are enrolled in Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s CARE Program. The program offers discounted rates on utility fees to lower income customers. The following are the required qualifications for the City of Lathrop’s Payment Assistance Program:

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be eligible for the rate reduction, you must be enrolled in the Pacific Gas and Electric Company’s CARE Program.

The name and service address on the PG&E bill must be the same as it appears on The City of Lathrop utility bill to qualify for the discount.

Each June 1st, the City will send a renewal notice to re-verify eligibility by mail. The customer will be required each calendar year to provide a copy of their current PG&E bill due on or before June 30th demonstrating they remain enrolled in the CARE Program to remain eligible on the Payment Assistance Program (Ord. 02-211§1) .

No credit for discounts will be applied to charges incurred prior to the City’s approval of your City of Lathrop’s Payment Assistance Program application.

To obtain a PG&E CARE application, please visit their website at www.pge.com/CARE. Once PG&E has approved your application, please fill out an applicaiton form and return it with a copy of your PG&E approval, or a copy of your PG&E bill showing the CARE discount to the Finance Department.

If you are already a participant in the PG&E CARE Program, please fill out this application and return it with a copy of your PG&E bill in the enclosed envelope.
